outfit: turquoise dreams

I really like this top. It is the perfect amount of oversized and lightweight, so it makes for a nice, drapey**  t-shirt blouse. Plus, it is the prettiest shade of bright turquoise, which is SO in right now, you guys. Tucked into a pair of olive green surplus pants and topped off with navy Saltwater sandals, it would create the perfect lazy afternoon outfit.

**Is "drapey" an actual word? I use it a lot when listing items, and although I'm pretty sure I made it up, I'm going to keep using it, because I like it.

How cute is this shirt??? Just listed in the shop, among some other fun little items. I'll be adding a few belts today, so stop in and take a look! I hope everyone's day is going well- I'm about to head out and buy a new needle for my sewing machine (I broke it about a year and a half ago and am just getting around to replacing it!) This nice weather puts me in the mood for some DIY's!!

October is, in my opinion, the very best month. Here is what warrants October so great:

1. Pumpkin patch picking

4. Being able to wear scarves and boots and layers, oh my!

5. Drinking hot beverages is made bearable by the cooler temps (I'm especially thinking of apple cider here!)

tie it up

I finally got around to doing a tiny shop update today, and the majority of it were these handsome bow ties. I love bow ties... to me, they are the epitome of classy and sophisticated. And a little bit geeky chic.

These particular ones were in a box in my grandmother's house and they may have been some of my grandfather's. I've kept a few, but who really needs a bunch of bow ties lying around, looking pretty but sitting lonely? I hope someone classy and sophisticated (and a tad bit geeky chic) will love them as much as I do.

etsy update: my favorites

I recently did a small Etsy update, and these are a few that I've deemed my favorites!

This silver necklace reminds me of a genie or a belly dancer for some reason... I'm not sure why, but it may be the shape and the way that the hinges make the pendant move.

Those shoes were actually a find from my grandmother's closet... they were never worn and she still had the receipt from when she purchased them! I love vintage with a story.

I really enjoy this knotted fabric belt... I've worn it a few times and it really adds some pizazz to an otherwise simple outfit.
